Time for the new year !

Okay so New Year is just under three hours away and I`m tryinggg to finish this post before my ride comes to take me to church.

I had a really good Christmas! Did you?? I sure hope so. But this Christmas break.. not only was I ripping the wrapping off of all types of new and intriguing things butt I was working on getting this business up and going. I took two of my friends to take some pictures with the jewelry and after they posted the pictures on facebook, I now have people contacting me inquiring about the jewelry! The pictures haven`t even been properly edited yet, so I`m hoping that this is a taste of what the future holds for my business.

So I`m trying to make as many charms and stuff so that once school starts and I start selling, I wont fall behind on orders and sales. I think I`ve made enough donuts to last a lifetime .. my mother has actually forbidden me from making anymore or them anytime soon. I am trying to diversify my inventory as much as possible. The more diversification, the more personal each product will be to the consumer, which is exactly what I would like.

I still haven`t finished those cupcakes that I told you about from last time .. the oven just seems so much further than it used to be. Also working on some cupcakes and waffles. Yum yum yum! :) Andddd I just bought some chain to try them out with charms to make some necklaces .. I need to find someplace that sells it wholesale though, b/c my wallet is crying right now and there`s nothing more unfashionable than tear-stained jeans.

The Eve of Christmas Eve

Hello again my many followers (or more so my only follower: daddy). Back again to update you on all the new and exciting things that have been happening.

Still working on inventory. Donut rings have been assembled & now just need to be glazed and packaged. But I need some new paintbrushes. You see.. in the frustration of glazing with the aforementioned glaze, I left my paintbrushes without washing them.. who knew glaze was so rock hard and stiff?? Not me! So unless I plan on trying to salvage them with some acetone or.. idk.. only God knows how I even get that stuff out, I have nothing to glaze with. I guess I could just rub it on with my finger huh? But then that would leave glaze on my hands .. and then it would distract people when I`m doing my spirit fingers.. and my spirit fingers are golddd. So I`ll just buy some new brushes.

So once I glaze, then it`s time to package in my new mini ziploc bags. Eeeek! After much searching and googling and what`s not, I realized that this place right near my work sells the bags. So I go there with my little brother and found the bags. I bought a thousand of them. I know what you`re thinking: "Dandy The Great, why did you buy oh so many bags? Your inventory must be extraordinary!" Well quite the contrary my friend. I currently have less than 50 items in my inventory, but it seems that these ziplock bags are sold in packages of a thousand, so I had no choice but to buy so many. But look on the bright side, if I ever have to send 950 miniature children to school with miniature sandwiches then I will be amply prepared!

Lookie lookie! I`m making some lollipop charms, maybe some earrings as well .. who knows what the future holds for these lil` beauts! This is the first time that I`ve tried to make them so I hope they don`t come lookin` too wonky.

I need to pay a visit to the craft store.. I`m running low on supplies. Oh how I love that store. Going through each aisle looking for something I've never noticed before. I just ooze joy and excitement.

I actually had much more to tell you about but I had a pretty busy day, so I will have to update you after Christmas.

Happy Holidays !

Post Numero Uno !

Welcome Welcome Welcome !

As you can see, the website is now up and running & I will be using this website to update you every couple of days on what`s going on with Dandy. So let`s get to it!

Firstly I`d just like to ask everyone if you like the website, and any thing you think I could improve. I was up until about 3:30 am last night working on this website and the logo and blah blah blah. So here`s the thing, you may comment and say some things that I could improve, but I am gonna just ignore your comments for a bit while I bask in my glory okay?

^ New pieces just baked last night. Just waiting on my ring pieces to arrive from Art Chix. They told me that they would be shipped anywhere from 2 to 20 days. I know right TWENTY ?! They must be shipping illegal weapons of mass destruction as a free gift to me. And you know how strict Customs is. Anything look fishy, they gotta be all up in your grill. I could just imagine them doing the little x-ray thingy:

Customs Officer named Johnson: "By golly Johnson! Look in that the x-ray of this package!"
Customs Officer also named Johnson: "What is it Johnson?!"
Customs Officer named Johnson: "Well Johnson.. it's these weird shiny circular things. They look super dangerous. Who knows what kind of evil these things are used for."
Customs Officer also name Johnson: "I think we should hold them for 2 to 20 days, Johnson."
*both look at each other, then hi5*.
Both Johnson's: "Agreed.Good work Johnson!"
*both give each other the-wink-and-the-gun*

Ahh .. those sneaky customs officers!

^ So if you read my livejournal, you would`ve known that my good ole sculpey glaze has completely dried up for some odd reason. So, I bought myself some of this new fangled "Studio Sculpey" glaze (i accidentally photographed the wrong thing if you notice). This stuff is crap okay. It has this weird milky color before it dries. And not only that, but the directions say that you are supposed to apply the glaze BEFORE you bake the piece. But that`s not the Dandy way. I like to live dangerously and I`ve been applying it AFTER I bake the pieces. Aha! "sucks to your assmar" new studio sculpey glaze! (- quoted from Lord of the Flies).
